A very important component of the ICU Boot Camp experience will be the assignment and services of a faculty mentor. This Drill Sergeant/Big Sister/Confessor/Confidant all rolled into one will provide you with special attention before, during, and after your Boot Camp experience. Each recruit will be assigned to either Lydia Block or Jane Jarrow (see “Instructors”).
PRIOR to Boot Camp, your mentor will:
• Call you, introduce herself, and answer any questions you may have regarding the upcoming experience
• Review your pre-training survey and information to be familiar with your background and needs upon arrival
DURING Boot Camp, your mentor will:
• Help you to focus your homework assignments in the direction that best meets your individual campus need/profile
AFTER Boot Camp, your mentor will:
• Speak with you privately (by phone or online) during the week of May 24 to review your Plan of Action, offer suggestions, and prepare a schedule for follow-up activities
• Be available for individual phone consultation on an as-needed basis throughout the 2010-2011 school year
