Lydia S. Block, Ph.D., spent more than a dozen years as the Director of Learning Disability Services at Ohio State University. Currently, she serves as the Disability Consultant at Capital University (a small, private liberal arts institution in Columbus), while still maintaining her private practice in helping high school students with disabilities prepare for postsecondary study and make an appropriate college selection/match. Lydia is a nationally-known expert in the field of disability services in higher education. Her vita includes more than a decade of service on the National Joint Council on Learning Disabilities, an ongoing column for Disability Compliance in Higher Education, and a huge number of presentations to postsecondary institutions and well as national, regional, and state professional organizations.
Jane E. Jarrow, Ph.D., spent 14 years as the Executive Director of the Association on Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD), before becoming a private consultant in the field of disability and higher education in 1996. In her role with her consulting business, Disability Access Information and Support (DAIS), Jane provides advice and counsel to disability service providers and institutions, performs program reviews, reviews policy, provides online inservice training, and is a prolific author and speaker in this field. She continues to serve as the Director of Disability Policy and Education for the Council for Opportunity in Education and writes regularly for the 504/ADA Compliance Handbooks. For almost 7 years, DAIS has hosted a listserv for disability service providers at private colleges and universities (ICU listserv) and Jane is a regular contributor to this and other lists. She is most proud of her recognition as the 2001 Fink-Ryan Award Winner for her contributions to the DSSHE-L.
